Why Join the WAAI

Angel groups have grown significantly this century as groups have been established and more individual Angels have joined the groups. Angel groups now exist in nearly every State and Territory.

Groups offer Angel investors the opportunity to invest in and help build successful companies – while also having a good time. Every group is different in terms of investment strategy and culture, but AAAI member groups offer interested investors a variety of benefits.

Most Angel groups are looking for new investors to join their groups and this is certainly true for WA Angel Investors.

Benefits to investment of belonging to an Angel group:

  • Dividing the work eases the time and pain of evaluating and monitoring investments
  • Standardised processes & term sheets
  • Better deal flow – quality and quantity
  • Greater potential to diversify your Angel portfolio and reducing risk of investment losses
  • Stay current on new ideas, technology, emerging markets
  • Networking and fun with a peer group of successful entrepreneurs and executives
  • Build your investment skills by learning from other members and taking educational courses
  • Support your community by mentoring entrepreneurs and helping young and innovative companies grow
  • In WA Angel Investors you have the option to remain anonymous while the group has a public profile
  • Pooling individual capital increases the chance that entrepreneurs can attract enough money to build their businesses
  • Connections to a co-investment eco-system, so that portfolio firms have a better chance for growth capital
  • Collaborating with other Angel groups in Australia and around the world
